The Story Behind the Design
Before the colonial name, there was XAYMACA — the Taino word for the land, meaning Land of Wood and Water. Breath, earth, wood, water: the four elements that held the people before the forgetting. This design is a restoration — a return of the original name to the body that carries the original memory. To wear XAYMACA is to remember the land as it named itself. The roots hold. The water flows. The breath continues.
The original name, returned to the body.
